The Davis Learning Strategies are designed for classroom use and are geared to beginning readers. These methods were found to benefit all students no matter what their learning styles or reading level. Teachers found that strong readers become stronger in language and grammar skills and weaker readers begin to read effortlessly.
If you are interested in finding out more about these Learning Strategies, the DLS Basic Teacher Workshop will be run in Ascot, Berkshire, on 25 & 26 September 2009. It will presented by Jane Heywood.
You can find further details at the Davis Learning Foundation site. I attended one of these workshops a couple of years ago so please give me a call if you would like to find out some further information.
